"And Still I Rise" is a book of poetry that contains 32 short poems divided into 3 parts, which reveal a snapshot of her life as a black woman and her determination to rise above difficulties and discouragement. It contains her popular poem and my personal favorite: "Phenomenal Woman" and the featured poem "Still I Rise"

I'm a woman. Phenomenally. Phenomenal Woman. That's me. Maya Angelou.

I enjoy poetry because it expresses the innermost depths of one's self and beliefs into words that are easily understood; and it is even more fun when it is performed.

The other poems I loved included "Ain't that Bad" "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" "Just Like Job" and "Thank you Lord" It is a poetry book that contains inner strength, resilience, tenacity, excitement and beauty. It deserves five stars.
