"The Smart Money Woman: an African Girl's Journey to Financial Freedom" is a book written by the Nigerian author and founder of Smart Money Africa; Arese Ugwu. It is a book that perfectly harmonizes fiction and non-fiction it not only provides a great story but also knowledge about financial freedom.

The plot is set in the country of Nigeria; and the spotlight shines on a smart, beautiful chic young Nigerian lady called Zuri. She is living the soft lifestyle as she is on top of the latest trends, fashion, food and the like. And she has a well-paid job to back it up. But one day, she comes to the terrifying realization that she is broke. And she is determined to find out what she can do about it. But she doesn't embark on this journey alone. Join Zuri and her friends on the road to financial freedom; of which there is testing of friendships, hot sizzling revelations, romance and even heartbreak.

This book not only kept me on the edge of my seat but I also learned what being broke truly means, how to conquer my money fears, how to track where my money goes, how to deal with debt, and a spending plan. This book was an eye-opener for me and I have made financial decisions that are helping me. Like Zuri, I am not where I want to be but I am not where I used to be.
